Last weekend when I get back from gym I found a plastic bag full of Tape (a fragmanted casava), it happend to be my hubby fav snack. But this time I found it “too much”, he buy 1 kg Tape…for two of us?? hahaha.. Im not that addict with Tape, I prefer cheese or chocolate..or ice cream.

So I ask him : “Don’t u think its too much?” and he answered : “Its for you making a Tape Cake.” OOwh..OK..when did have plan to make one? :-/ …so I asume its the other way for him to say : “Please make Tape Cake for me!” :)) OK then…hihihi..

Its been more than 3 years since I make Tape Cake, so I need to grab my magic book to find the recipe. I had this one recipe from NCC wesite, lucky me, the recipe was so simple and I have all ingredients in my kitchen.

And…hopwalaaa…a very soft Tape Cake specialy for my Hubby ;)

Classic Black Forest B’Day Cake

My last weekend project is to make 1 birthday cake.
Since the customer is a big fan of cake, specialy black forest, i decide to make one.

For me, a black foreat is : a chocolate cake that layered by whipcream and dark cherry. I remember a friend of mine use to get rid off the dark cherry if eat this cake. Well not me :) if you give me Black Forest, you should give me the cherrys, hahaha…

bf_buzz091

I made it in 24×24cm pan, cut it in half, do the filling part, then assembling it. I try to make 2 layered cake by putting a quarter part on top of the center space.
This lay out will also give me enough space to write down the word by plastic icing. Coz i cannot put the plastic icing on top of the cake, they’ll melting.

I only ude, dark cherry dan whip cream, nothing else, coz the customer doesn’t like the taste of butter cream, jam, or fondant. To add a taste I paint it by dcc, so it will sounds ‘kres’ when they cut it, hihihi…

So, here it is, a classic black forest for Babaz the Young Lawyer :)
Happy B’Day Babaz, wish u all the best!

But I think its time for me to make my self happy by making one of my own. So I decide to make a regular spoge cake recipe.
Instead of making it big, I use paper cup in a muffin pan. So that I don’t have to eat all by my self, and taking it to the office for my friends :)

Chocolate Cup Cakes

I hate when I feel like I’m running out of time :(
See, i haven’t up date this blog since i cant remember when except i saw the las post date :)
So today I’ll tell u ’bout my Chocolate Cupcake.

As u know, I love baking with cups, either its muffins nor its cupcakes. Some people might not know the different between those two cakes. Coz from out side they have the same look : cake in a paper cup, hehe…
Actually, their very different. Muffin had a rough texture, u don’t need to mix it well, so most of muffins recipe exclude electric mixer works.
Cup cake instead, its actually a regular sponge / pound cake, but u just bake it in a paper cups.

My Cupcakes usually using a butter cream or whip cream, its not a very sweet cream coz i prefer to enjoy my cupcake instead of the cream. Is just that, when a I hear a word Cupcakes, my mind picturing : cake in a paper cup that has cream on top of it (well, sometimes with a little red cherry on it :)…).

Chocolate cupcakes with a cream, do will help you set your good mood :)

Chewy Cheezy Muffin Thursday

I love cheese. I am a cheese person. I always said to my friends that, I do believe that there are 2 kinda person : cheese lovers and chocolate lovers. Chocolate lovers usually is a romantic person, in the other hand, cheese lovers is an out going person. Well i think i’m the second one :)

I’m still trying a recipe from prima rasa collections, they don’t have Cheese Muffin recipe, so i think i’ll modified a recipe that might quite similar to cheese muffin. So i use their Blueberry Muffin recipe. I change the blueberry to small cheese blocks.

The result? I have a very cheezy chewy muffins. Inside is a bit extra moist n chewy, i assume its because the heaviness from cheese blocks that half melted in the baking process. I added a grated cheese on top of it before they goes to the oven, so as a result i have a crispy cheese in top. The texture is a bit hard, but the taste of cheese and lemon makes it perfect :)

For you who love cheese, i think u have to try it. After all, its muffins, there’s no stress involve in the process, hahaha…

Warm Afternoon with a Coffee Muffins & Cold Ocha

Well hello world, its been years since i write a blog. Boy im too busy or what? :) I miss writing as much as i miss baking. I miss the smell of cinnamon and feel curious bout the recipes result. Miss peeking the oven window, wondering whether its a Big success or a total failure :))

So, im taking my annual leave for a week.
I’m back in the kitchen.. im starting my holiday buy trying a new recipe from Prima Rasa Collection, called Coffee Muffin.

I can’t say that its a 100% success, coz i think i kinda over bake them :) Its because im using my new oven. So now, im still getting to know this oven profile. Turns out that i need to set a lower temperature from what the recipe said. But the muffins still taste very good :))
The sweet taste from brown sugar & coffee, blends well with the bitter of cold ocha.

so glad to back in the kitchen.
Oh ya, by the way, im receiving many comment in my face book from my friends, they want the muffins so bad, hahaha…
